Sunday 27th October 1pm - 4pm. Black Mountain Peninsula. Come and enjoy a casual get-together with fellow CAC members and help celebrate this seasons’ trophy recipients. Picnic food and sausage sizzle, provided by the club. BYO drinks & picnic chairs. This event is open to all ages. There is no cost to attend, however you will need to register. In case of wet weather, marquee tents will be setup. Please RSVP with your name and number attending by Wednesday 23 Oct to Cheryl Taylor. Refer Skimail for RSVP email & event location.
Bookings for Peak season 2025 & offpeak 25/26 open at 9am on Monday 4th November 2024. Tier 1 Booking cut-off date is 17 November 2024. Tier 2 Booking cut-off date is 16 February 2025. Tier 3 Booking cut-off date is one calendar month prior to booking commencement.

Members and children under the age of 18 who are eligible for an offer of membership and who have paid the second instalment of the entrance fee. At the Tier 1 cut-off date all bookings that meet the Tier 1 criteria above are considered. If necessary, a ballot is held to determine priority for any over-subscribed periods. All successful Tier 1 bookings are expected to be confirmed within 14days of the Tier 1 cut-off date. Any bookings received after the Tier 1 cut-off date, that meet the Tier 1 criteria above, will be considered in order of receipt and will be considered/confirmed as soon as possible after receipt, but after Tier 1 bookings received prior to the Tier 1 Cut-off date.

This walk is open to any CAC member or wait lister who is interested in going on guided walks in the National Park. We plan to have walks over 5 days/ 6 nights. Monday 6th January to Sunday 12 January 2025 – timed for the school holidays for our junior members. We are planning to include an optional night camping at Horse Camp Hut in Munyang Valley. Monday 17 March to Sunday 23 March 2025 (not school holidays). Members would need to book their own accommodation through the normal members on-line booking system, self-cater food for themselves (like you do in winter), drive themselves to the lodge and have suitable hiking gear. We are planning to have different graded walks each day for people to select based on their fitness and experience; from easy walks of a couple of kms to harder walks around 20kms. EVENT DESCRIPTIONS
Work Parties
Scheduled weekends for members and waitlist members to contribute to lodge upkeep. Tasks include painting, minor repairs, cleaning, and gardening. Accommodation is complimentary, and there is time for “party” as well as “work”. See Frozen Acres for organiser details to book.
Mt Franklin Open Day
Usually held in conjunction with the ACT Heritage Festival in April. Visit the new shelter at heritage listed Mt Franklin and join a park ranger and club members in discovering the history of the area and Club.
Snowsports ACT Ski Sale
Held in May at the Old Bus Depot Markets, Kingston. New and second hand gear for sale.
Back to Perisher Weekend
Held over Easter, events include a fun run, duck race, treasure hunt and mountain bike tour.
Paddy Pallin Junior Cross Country
A Cross country event for anyone under 16, supported by club. The emphasis is on participation, and distances vary depend on age.
Snowsports ACT Come and Try Cross Country Day
Held at the Nordic Shelter – open to everyone. The day involves a two-hour lesson followed by lunch. No cost, but you need to bring your own gear.
NB: The club will subsidise the cost of cross country ski hire for members at this event.
Family Week
A week in the Winter ACT/NSW school holidays designed for families with primary-school aged children. Communal meals and a cooking roster are organised, with food costs shared.
Youth Week
A week in the Winter ACT/NSW school holidays designed for families with high-school aged children. Communal meals and a cooking roster are organised, with food costs shared.
Club Championships
Alpine and Snowboard races on a giant slalom course. Members and guests can compete (members are eligible for awards). Must be above beginner level.
ACT Women in Sport Ski de Femme
If you’re interested in cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, this is for you, with classical and skating sessions run by experienced instructors.
Cross Country Ski Week
A week of events for beginners to seasoned racers. Coffee tours, orienteering, races, and other events.
Cross Country Night Relays
Part of Cross Country Ski Week, this is a fun sprint relay held under lights around a loop at the Nordic Shelter, followed by an optional dinner.
KAC Classic
A freestyle citizen cross-country ski race from Perisher Valley to Charlotte Pass. The club uses this race as its senior cross-country championship.
Snowy Mountains Classic
A series of cross country ski races, ranging from 2.5km to 30km. The club is a major sponsor and uses this race as its junior cross-country championship.
Brumby Races
Club social races where members compete in various events down a dual giant slalom course.
Kosciuszko Tour
Runs from Thredbo to Perisher Valley, organised by the Canberra Cross Country Ski Club.
Balmain Cup
The oldest interclub ski competition in Australia, with the club competing since the 1930s. The Cup consists of, slalom, giant slalom, snowboarding and cross country events.
Perisher Cup
A friendly inter-club competition, where teams of four participate in cross country, giant slalom, and a jump. Any age and ability can compete.
